Review of Mudman Rickshaw - ceramic, sized for bonsai

It's simple, suprisingly rugged item. Mine was very close to the picture but the passenger was slightly more active.
I think the artisian or artist that made mine interjected a subtle sense of humor into it. When no one was looking I discreetly slipped on my reading glasses to appreciate that the sculpture has more detail than at first meets the eye. (old eyes anyway)

Product Description:
Centuries ago, Chinese horticulturists were creating miniature landscapes in a tray in an effort to capture the beauty of a favorite scenic view on a small scale. To help make these bonsai creations more realistic, they used tiny mudmen, minature buildings and boats, and other objets to add scale and proportion to their "landscapes".Our collection continues this tradition by using the same cottage industry methods of individually creating each piece from clay or 'mud'.

Review of Japanese Maple 20 Seeds/Seed - ACER - BONSAI

So it took me all this time of caring and stressing over these seeds to find out they were a dud. Then through the magic of the internet I find out that these seeds arent even viable past two weeks. So even if the seeds were freshly picked, (doubtful) The chances that they would be viable by the time they got to me are slim. Not to mention it takes at least 3 months toget the seeds to sprout. I feel duped and want my money back.

Review of Giant Sequoia 50 Seeds - BONSAI - Sequoia Giganteum

Out of 50 seeds I planted, only one has germinated.I'll know better once it gets big enough to transplant out of my bathroom.I followed the instructions to the letter, but I'm not sure how well they will grow in Illinois...

Product Description:
The "General Sherman" is a giant sequoia growing in Sequoia National Park, California, that happens to be the largest living thing on Earth. This tree is 275' tall and its crown spreads 107'. The trunk is more than 26' in diameter. The General Sherman is believed to be 2,500 years old, and weigh more than 1000 tons. John Muir called the giant sequoia "the noblest of a noble race." The giant sequoia is a columnar or cone-shaped tree, losing its lower branches and becoming flat-topped with age. Trees more than 100 years old typically are free of branches to a height of 100' or more. In cultivation, giant sequoias usually grow no more than 60-100' tall and retain their lower branches which may droop down to touch the ground and sometimes take root. The reddish brown bark is very thick (up to 20" thick) and deeply fissured. The bright gray-green leaves are scale-like, sharp-pointed, 1/4" long, overlapping each other, and completely covering the twigs. The egg shaped cones are 3" long, and remain on the tree for up to 20 years. Unlike the related California redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), giant sequoia does not sprout from the roots. The General Sherman is considered to be the largest giant sequoia because of a combination of height, canopy spread and trunk diameter. However, some giant sequoias are closer to 300' tall, and some California redwoods and coast Douglas-firs (Pseudotsuga menziesii var. menziesii), although not as massive as giant sequoias, are even taller.

There is good instruction in details about how to take good care of these seeds into plants. I appreciate it because I am the first time planter of Bonsai. I follow the steps by the guidance and I hope those seeds will become a bonsai plant. If I really succeed I will come back to write my other review.

Review of Oshio Beni Japanese Maple 7 Seeds - Acer - Bonsai

First let me say that I was disappointed with a bonsai starter kit that I had ordered from this company before. The seeds included in the box set where all crushed and had to be trashed. I was expecting the same when it came to these, but was surprised when I found that they were wrapped in protective bubble wrapping and packaged with peanuts. There was loose bits in the bag or anything.

Its sad to have to wait for spring to start on a new bonsai adventure though.
